A community I am a part of uses the platform “Services” to coordinate and organize staff and volunteers, and after multiple interactions I gathered that its app component leaves a lot to be desired. As a creative, “just for fun” effort, I decided to follow a user-centered design approach to reimagine this platform to a state that would better serve my community.
After interviews and some best practices research, I determined the most crucial wants and needs for the redesign, the biggest being that people struggled to efficiently and intuitively create schedules in the app. I then created wireframes and subsequent prototypes to explore this desired process.
